Destination 4; Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, Canada

January 6th, 2011

I'm here in Fort Saskatchewan, a city of 18,653 people. There's alot of sheep type things here. It's cute, their maskot is a sheep named Auggie! I was told on our tour that 50 wild sheep roam the city in the summer. That's so unique.
It's pretty cold here, normally -13 C. At night it gets even colder, it sucks. Besides the cold it's really fun here though! Something else I found interesting is, we're not in an actual ecozone. We're in a transition zone, changing from Prairies to Boreal Shield. If you had to have one answer, I would say we're in the Prairies, seeing as we're at the edge of it. There's alot of flat lands, but also alot of trees! When I say alot, I mean it. There's also mountains, and plenty of water! About an hour or more away is Lois Hole Centennial Provincial Park. This place is full of nature!
My family and I went for a drive, and saw mountains and deer, and rabbits! It was so beautiful. In the city part it was like a normal city, stores, restaraunts, etc. We had alot of fun, It was real relaxing. I could sit and paint pictures of it here all day, and wouldn't get bored. I'm heading off to my last destination in about an hour, so I should go get ready. See you later, I'm hittin' Nanaimo of British Columbia!
